Meghnad Desai, Baron Desai

Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai, Baron Desai (10 July 1940 – 29 July 2025) was an Indian-born British economist and Labour politician.

Desai stood unsuccessfully for the position of Lord Speaker in the House of Lords in 2011. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India, in 2008. Provided by Wikipedia
